Description:

   The computer lab is well equipped with about 50 computers with Intel Dual Core / AMD/ i3 processors including 20 thin clients andkept open from 8.30AM to 5.30PM on all days except Saturdays and Sundays. The following training activities are performed by this lab along with the maintenance of networks of IRISET

Registration of trainees upon their reporting for training is done in Computer Lab and also creates an account for accessing learning resources and  attempting online exams conducted at end of every course. Online examination is conducted for 50 trainees at a time using Moodle service which is debian based open software developed in house

Some of the signaling and telecom content is made available in the form of E-Learning Modules. They can be accessed from intranet as well as internet

Notes, lab sheets, Manuals and videos are made available in Moodle server as learning resources. Thousands of objective and subjective questions of signaling and telecommunications in the quiz form are made available for  trainees to attempt and assess their understanding

Virtual Classes are conducted through video conferencing system from IRISET to around 12 STTCs of zonal railways on every Wednesday on different topics of signaling and telecommunication.

Maintenance of all data networks including 150 Mbps Railnet and 100 Mbps NKN  which are extended to all Hostels and officers quarters through fibre optical cable  and Wireless Access points. Maintenance of servers, PCs, projectors, printers and UPSs are carried out by this lab.
